Get Set For Ramadan and Eid With Eidparty.co.uk

When I first became Muslim, just over 10 years ago, I did not have any traditions for celebrating Ramadan and Eid. I was used to the fancy decorations used at Christmas and wondered if there was something similar available for Eid as well. I remember being crestfallen at how bland Eid seemed to be in comparison to Christmas, which was full of lights, colour and sparkle. I searched for products to help Eid feel more exciting but I was disappointed with the choices available. The only option was to make my own.

Eid Party

Now, 10 years later, this has all completely changed. Eid Party have a huge selection of products to help you celebrate both Ramadan and Eid and really make this a special time of year. Moreover, there are some brilliant products for children that will help to make these occasions come alive!

Eidparty.co.uk is a family business based in East London that has been inspiring families to spread the message and joy of Eid since 2013. At the time they found there were no options for party supplies and decorations for the Blessed Month. This made hosting a stylish and affordable Eid celebration a real challenge so they decided to do it themselves! Dissatisfied with the alternatives out there, they began to design and manufacture a small line of Eid & Ramadan decorations to have full control of the design, quality and price of their products.
I was sent some of Eid Party's products to review. Let me share them with you now.

Children's products

Eid party have some great products for children.

The Ramadan calendars have been a big hit with my children. They have been filled with our good deed cards and some goodies and the children have been enjoying opening them each day. They are excellent quality so I am sure they will last for years to come!

There are also a number of toys that can be purchased on the website. These Iittle Muslim and Muslimah dolls are being used a lot by my children. They particularly love the little Muslim finger puppets too!  It is wonderful to see some dolls in traditional, modest clothing.

These Arabic resources are a brilliant addition to our homeschool. We do a lot of language learning at home and I am always on the lookout for new resources. This wooden Arabic puzzle and the magnetic letters are very reasonably priced and great for little ones just starting to learn the alphabet. You can also get bags full of little toys that a perfect for party bags or the pockets of the Ramadan calendar.

Crafts

There are some lovely craft sets on the Eid Party website. Here are some wooden Ramadan and Eid decorations. You can decorate them in any way you like and you can also get craft supplies from Eid Party to decorate them, like the pompoms and sequins above.

My children decided to use some pearl stickers to decorate the moon and star wooden decorations for Ramadan. I think they look great!

How to Homeschool During Ramadan

Ramadan is a beautiful and blessed month full of excitement and wonder. We spend the days abstaining from food and drink and the long days of fasting can take their toll on our mind and body. If you are anything like me, you may not have the energy to follow your usual routine. You might not have the energy to take the children out so much or do so much housework. This can cause some anxiety and guilt but do not be too hard on yourself. As the days go on and your body becomes used to fasting, it becomes easier.

April Nature Studies

If you have read about our homeschool curriculum or follow my instagram account, you will know we are following a nature curriculum this year called 'Exploring Nature With Children'. It is a wonderful curriculum that covers different topics each week of the year. For each week, there are activities to do, recommended reading, poetry and a piece of art to study. The curriculum incorporates science, English, art and nature studies so it is really varied. You can check out the curriculum here.

The Great British Bake Off is a favourite programme in our house as well as many other households across the country. As a family we look forward to it every year and it inspires us to get baking at home. From savoury pies to sugary cupcakes, there are a myriad things to bake and enjoy.
