About

Hello, I'm Weronika!

I'm a blogger and Speech and Language Therapist specialising in bilingualism. After qualifying as a Speech and Language Therapist in 2012, I went on to undertake research into bilingualism and autism. I spent a few years as a stay at home mum concentrating on bringing up my children and being responsible for their education. I now run online courses that help parents boost their children's speech, language and literacy skills. I also offer online speech and language therapy services.

I have a Polish background, although I was born in the UK, and my husband is a Kurd from Turkey. Hence, we are a very multicultural family and this is what inspired the name of my blog. We are bringing our four children up as bilingual (English and Turkish) and learn Arabic as a foreign language, with a bit of Polish thrown in from their grandparents!

I started this blog in 2014 after deciding to homeschool my children. I did not always plan to homeschool but personal circumstances led me to research it when my oldest child was three years old and since then I haven't looked back!

We have an eclectic homeschool, taking different things from different approaches. In particular, I am drawn to the Charlotte Mason approach but prefer to use it as inspiration rather than follow it rigidly. I love to spend as much time as possible outdoors and believe outdoor learning is very beneficial for children. Because of this, we love to study nature and keep nature journals.

I use this blog to document our homeschooling life as a multicultural family. I also write extensively about bilingualism and bilingual language activities. I often do live Q and A's on my Facebook page where I answer your questions about speech, language and bilingualism issues as well as homeschooling.

I hope you enjoy my blog!
